TIFO prevents pollution from poisoning people. We do this by building lasting partnerships to bring positive change to people harmed by extractive industries. Real Lives We all rely on extractive industries. Every time we use a phone or computer, drive a car or charge a device, we are using resources extracted from the earth. But we are not all directly affected by the dangers of those industries. The extraction of resources from the earth affects the most vulnerable people in the world’s most vulnerable communities—at home and abroad. Every day, people in these communities face unsafe food and water, insecure housing, and a choice between health and earning a day's wage. That’s unjust. Real Solutions By combining rigorous science with local knowledge, TIFO equips people with the education, training, and workforce development necessary to improve environmental health without sacrificing their livelihoods. When you partner with TIFO you provide solutions by - Advancing technical capacity through collaboration and knowledge exchange - Supporting health interventions for the most vulnerable populations - Providing responsible management of dangerous waste materials Join us in building a world where all communities have the knowledge and skills to protect future generations and maintain livelihoods: https://lnkd.in/g3t7A3NG

Driving through Nimiipuu land and Shoshone Paiute land, and all of those in between, seems like the perfect way to kick off Native American History Month. We had a fantastic week with our partners in Owyhee. Stay tuned for updates on the 7 Generations project! #TIFO #terrafound #indigenousland #nativelands #nativeamericanheritagemonth #sevengenerations

This is part four of our in-kind and more sponsor highlight! We are grateful for Hyperspud Sports' incredible silent auction and raffle items, Café Artista, Inc.'s caffeine donation, and friend-level sponsorships from Cafe Artista, Blue Sky Real Estate, and Green Grass Real Estate. Hyperspud Sports donated go-to gear for enjoying winter on the Palouse: snow shoes! If you are unsure where to outdoor adventuring during winter months, make sure you stop by the store, Heather will point you in the right direction. Cafe Artista is keeping us energized all night long with delicious coffee (fueling ALL the dance moves). They are also sponsoring the event at the Friend sponsorship level, helping make this event possible! Another big thank you to Friend-level sponsors Blue Sky Real Estate AND Green Grass Real Estate. Serving your Idaho and Washington Palouse region real estate needs, Sage McCetich makes the home-buying experience comfortable and empowers you in the process! Happy Wednesday! We had a productive workshop yesterday morning with members of the Tribal Environmental Protection Program and a representative of the Tribal Council discussing commenting on environmental impact statements. We then had an outreach meeting with Sho-Pai Tribal employees, during which we received great feedback on people's understanding of the commenting process, what challenges they face in participating, and suggestions on how to improve community involvement. For the rest of the afternoon, we detailed our agenda for today's power planning for the rest of this year and year two of the grant. Fun fact: Our tribal partners will join us in Moscow for the November 15 celebration!

This is part three of our in-kind sponsor highlight! We are grateful for the incredible silent auction and raffle items from White Pine Outfitters, Colter'sCreek Winery, Inc., and Institute for Community Partnerships and Sustainable Development (ICPSD)! White Pine Outfitters donated a full fly box and stylish swag. They are Moscow's go-to hot spot for all things fly fishing and secondhand outdoor gear. The fun doesn't stop there, as they also provide guided fly fishing, upland bird hunting, and white water rafting trips and expeditions in the Pacific Northwest! Colters Creek is in the hearts of many on the Palouse, and we mourn the loss of this incredible winery from the Arrow Junction Fire. Mike and Melissa are incredible supporters of TIFO, and they generously provided two cases of their (now discontinued) award-winning wine for our silent auction. ICPSD, a long-time partner and friend, has donated a beautiful piece of handcrafted Togolese art for our raffle. Have you RSVP'd for the Nov. 15 celebration? https://lnkd.in/gpz-kqAi

If you haven't already noticed, we are SO excited about our annual celebration on Nov. 15! But none of this would happen without the supportive community we are a part of here on the Palouse. We have received some incredible raffle and silent auction donations. Today, we are highlighting Lodgepole, Panhandle Cone & Coffee, and Orchard Farm Soap, so do watch and read on! Lodgepole has donated a five-course dinner for two! If you have not had the opportunity to enjoy Lodgepole's delicious and beautiful farm-to-table fare, now is your chance! If you have, then you know! 🤤 Lodgepole has been a wonderful partner to TIFO over the last year, hosting intimate get-togethers for us in their lounge space. Panhandle Cone & Coffee has loaded us up with free scoop tokens for our raffle. We definitely scream for PCC ice cream and are so happy to have an ice cream parlor that not only produces delicious hand-crafted ice cream but has options for different dietary needs! Orchard Farm Soap donated a delightful treat-yourself set that includes soaps, swag, cream, balm, and salve. The ultimate farm-to-bar/salve/cream starter kit from local artisan Kate Jaeckel. Locally grown, locally made, locally loved!
