What an incredible weekend at our 3rd annual TEX-E Bootcamp for Climatetech Entrepreneurship! We were thrilled to welcome over 100 attendees, including students from our partner schools and others across the country, university faculty & staff, founders, and corporate leaders. The energy and passion for innovation in the climatetech space is undeniable! This event could not have been possible without the support of our partners Greentown Labs, Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, our small but mighty team (David Pruner, Julia Johansson, Isaiah B. Hughes) and our corporate sponsors. Thank you to Dominic C. of ExxonMobil, Aimee DiTommaso of Archaea Energy, and Mussadiq Akram of CenterPoint Energy for speaking and kicking off the weekend with energy! We would like to extend a very special thank you to Bill Aulet and Ben Soltoff for their dedication to TEX-E's mission. The students got to learn from Bill himself as he taught Disciplined Entrepreneurship, signed students’ copies, and truly inspired the next generation of climatetech entrepreneurs. 📚 We’re also beyond grateful to our incredible judges (Dev Motiram, Aleida Rios, James Henahan, Neal Dikeman, Ed Rios) and mentors (Rajeev Agnihotri, Nisha Desai, Shobhana Mani, R. Dylan Cooper, Mark Arnold, Philip Bouchard). Your expertise and guidance were invaluable and set the student teams up for success on Sunday. The caliber of our student participants was nothing short of impressive—though not surprising! In just 24 hours, they identified problems, developed solutions, and pitched full business plans. Congratulations to BioFuels Express, the winning team from Prairie View A&M University, University of Houston, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Houston Community College, and Texas A&M University, for taking home the win and our first-ever TEX-E Champion Jerseys! 🏆🔥 This weekend was a testament to the power of collaboration, passion, and innovative thinking. We can’t wait to see what these talented individuals will accomplish next! Let us know your highlights from this weekend in the comments 👇

To wrap up our TEX-E Intern Spotlight Series we'd like to introduce Diego Rico! Diego is a student at Rice University majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He loves to ski and is planning on skiing in different countries all over the world! 🎿 He is the Marketing and Website Upgrade Intern at Corrolytics. Here are some learnings he shared with us from his time at Corrolytics so far: "The most significant lesson I've learned through my time at Corrolytics so far has been to be unafraid to communicate frequently and openly. By expressing my thoughts with the Corrolytics team, I continue to learn valuable insights into the nature of entrepreneurship and the climate industry. It has helped me understand that climate challenges will be solved by those who are willing to learn from others and collaborate to achieve a greater goal." 👨💻This real-world experience has also shown him first hand what entrepreneurship is like: "Working closely with the founders at Corrolytics has shown me that despite innovation and preparedness, the journey of an entrepreneur is often uncertain and brings both great challenges and successes. This is especially true in climate tech, as founders and innovators work tirelessly to bring their solutions to life." Join us in welcoming Diego to the TEX-E community! 👏

Introducing intern Isaiah Jamail from the University of Houston! Isaiah is working as a Business Development Intern at CalWave Inc. a startup providing reliable, cost-effective ocean wave technologies for sustainable energy access. 🌊 Fun fact about Isaiah: he has been skydiving twice this year! Isaiah told us that: "Working at CalWave has opened my eyes to the “learn-as-you-go” nature of entrepreneurship. Especially given wave energy deployment is still in its infancy, a lot of the precedent is being set daily. I now see the difficulty in bringing these ideas to life, but I’m also excited to meet these challenges and help pioneer groundbreaking technology." He also says his biggest lesson so far "is the sheer amount of renewable energy that can be harnessed from our planet, waiting for innovative minds to discover how to tap into it. It’s given me a much deeper appreciation of the climatetech space and the creativity/passion required to make a contribution to a cleaner future." Join us in welcoming Isaiah! 👏
