Spent your Sunday thinking about Monday? 🙃🫠 Finding a good work/life balance is challenging for everyone, even Nature🌱💙 With development, population growth, and an arid (desert) climate, conservation in El Paso is tough! Our 2024 #ConservationWrangler The Frontera Land Alliance helps nature find its footing through private land conservation easements. 🤝Land conservation easements help nature and private landowners achieve balance by: 🌵Setting boundaries on the use of the land so that nature can thrive 🌵Protecting the day-to-day interests of landowners while investing in nature’s future 🌵Expanding a landowner’s capacity for conservation work through cool partnerships Since 2004, the Frontera Land Alliance has been protecting West Texas’ unique landscapes. With The City of El Paso Texas, they manage 1,500 acres of preserves, offering community access to open spaces, hosting educational events, and restoring native plants to benefit water, wildlife, and public health.

The Lone Star isn’t on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but some of our favorite Texans are! So we reimagined them as star: wildlife habitats. Hope they don’t mind sharing some clout⭐ 🌲Matthew McConaughey - The Pineywoods🌲 Alright, alright, alright! The chill sway of the pines hide this habitat’s depth of range. From protecting endangered species to filtering our drinking water, the pineywoods deserve a standing ovation! 🌊Beyoncé - The Gulf Coast🌊 All the single ladies flock to the estuaries along the Gulf. Known as the “nursery of the sea,” estuaries are where fresh and salt waters mix. These transition zones are IRREPLACEABLE breeding grounds for birds like the Roseate spoonbill. 🌻Willie Nelson - The Hill Country🌻 Those gentle rolling hills are always on our minds. Mammas, if you don’t want your babies to grow up to be cowboys, you’ve got your work cut out for you! Seeing an 8-point buck in a meadow of Texas wildflowers is a life-changing experience. 🌵Selena Quintanilla - The Chihuahuan Desert🌵 Cuz we’re dreaming of those skies at night! The desert has a heartbeat, a Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, that helps wildlife like the black-tailed prairie dog and Bighorn sheep find their rhythm in this harsh climate.

The experience of the cosmos was once available from every place on Earth… but, sadly, light pollution is dimming our connection and reducing our view of the universe. #ConservationPartners like Hill Country Alliance and DarkSky Texas are informing and inspiring people to reduce light pollution so more Texans can experience the connection of a beautiful starry night. San Antonio Zoo has hatched 108+ of these iconic lizards for relocation, and Fort Worth Zoo's new exhibit Mountains and Deserts in Texas Wild! got new horned lizard habitats featuring exciting research from Texas Christian University and Texas Parks & Wildlife 🐦 More Cities & Businesses Going Dark: With 23 International Dark Sky Places in Texas, light pollution is on the decline!
