Parents Kristin and Jacob were thrilled to find out that their second child, Adalida, was on her way in September of 2023. But her 20-week anatomy scan revealed a surprise: a 4-lb tumor growing out of Adalida’s tailbone. Kristin was quickly referred to Dr. Ahmed Nassr, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist and fetal surgeon at Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women. But her story was just beginning.
