The phrase "Texas can defy" is a pretty useful phrase for everything from its size (I'm a 9 hour drive from home, still in the same state, and that's not even close to being the longest intra-state drive) to its shifting demographics. Grateful to the George W. "To take advantage of it, however, Texans will need the right education for the jobs available, and those jobs must pay family-sustaining wages – two things the state already struggles to provide for native Texans."
