Texas is a big state. That's why the TWUA is divided into districts and regions. Every district belongs to a region, and the region manages training and other important events. If you aren’t sure which region you belong to, find out on the Membership page of the TWUA website. https://lnkd.in/g5J6jfuR

Severe weather is always challenging, but preparing for these inevitable events gives us an advantage. Depending on where you are in the state, you may face hurricanes, ice storms, flash floods, tornadoes, or wildfires. Always be ready to evacuate if necessary, and never ignore an evacuation order. When driving, never enter standing water areas. Find out more from the Texas Department of Emergency Management. https://lnkd.in/gyQFkW9k

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances ) are recognized worldwide as hazardous contaminants. So far, remediation efforts have been focused on drinking water treatment. Recently, though, attention has been given to addressing the sources and examining PFAS lifecycles. "Fingerprinting" of PFAS helps communities to identify both the contaminants and the sources, and may reduce the need for treatment. Learn more from WaterOnline. https://lnkd.in/gPhQw9Xu

TWUA training sessions provide industry workers with convenient ways to get the credit hours needed to advance. For example, this week, we offer the CSI/CCC training, which is TCEQ-approved for 20 credit hours toward a Water, CSI, BPAT, or Wastewater license. This class also provides 10 credit hours toward a Licensed Irrigation or Water Treatment Specialist license. Check out the training calendar and obtain those credit hours online. https://lnkd.in/guDEv6A5

The EPA estimates that more than 9 million old lead water service lines are still in use in the US. The first rules regulating lead water lines were implemented in 1992, and this year, the EPA has issued updates that require a service line inventory plus private and public lead line notifications and reporting.
