The plant is one of Austin's two primary treatment facilities, and it will benefit from $1 billion in expansion, repairs, and upgrades. Capacity will increase from 75 million gallons a day to 100 million, and the treatment process will be upgraded to reduce the nutrients that promote harmful algae growth.
