"The work they’re doing is transformational" said President Joe Biden on Oct. 23, 2023. October 23 marks the one-year anniversary of official designation of Texoma Semiconductor Tech Hub, along with 30 other Tech Hubs distributed across the U.S. The initial assembly of TSTH members occurred on June 9, 2023 in a virtual meeting hosted by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCT-COG). Phase-1 Designation and Tech Hubs Strategy Development Grant proposals were submitted on Aug. 15, 2023, at the time, there were 41 members in the consortium. Today TSTH has 64 members and serves 19 counties in North Texas and 10 counties in Southern Oklahoma with a population of more than 9 millions and growing fast. TSTH also includes several strategic members and partners outside the 29-county region. The Texoma region is the birthplace of the integrated circuit, invented by Dr. Jack Kilby at Texas Instruments in 1958. The region has recently enjoyed major expansion in semiconductor manufacturing with significant investment from Texas Instruments (TI) and GlobalWafers - America in the tune of more than $35 billion. TSTH is looking forward to working with its industry partners to make Texoma region a global powerhouse for semiconductor workforce creation, technology innovation and commercialization. In the midst of the unprecedented economic expansion of the region, we trust in what Jack Kilby said in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech: "the best is yet to come." #EDATechHubs #Texoma #Semiconductor #TechHub #SMU #EDA #CHIPSAct Read Texoma Tech Hub Newsletters: https://lnkd.in/gQ23u_yV
