#BREAKINGNEWS We're excited to share that three survivors were welcomed into our Aftercare program in North Carolina! Two were recovered from forced labor and are now receiving counseling, legal assistance, and connections to vital community resources. Another survivor was recovered from sex trafficking, and A21 will continue to provide case management and counseling as she embarks on her healing journey. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside these survivors as they pursue freedom and achieve their goals. 61% of the survivors in our care were recruited through false jobs over the last year. Every year, traffickers use fake job offers to exploit vulnerable people looking for a better life. Traffickers prey on this hope, using false promises to lure victims into dangerous situations. ⁠ It’s crucial to be aware that not all job opportunities are real and to know how to spot the red flags. 🚩 Unrealistically high salaries, jobs that include free accommodation, and "work abroad" offers often hide darker intentions.⁠ In recent years, we’ve seen more hotline calls asking for help with job vetting, and our Recover Teams are here to provide that support—helping people avoid falling into the hands of traffickers.⁠ Lives are being deceived every day, but together, we can stop it. Six men have escaped forced labor, and one girl has been recovered out of child online sexual exploitation Through social media and false job opportunities, these survivors were targeted by traffickers. Today, they are FREE. Our team has addressed their immediate needs and will continue to provide counseling, medical care, accommodation, and individualized support.
