The Accounting Guys first in-person conference is a wrap! I've been to many industry events. They aren't easy to pull off, and the first one is typically something of a train wreck. Kudos to the TAG team, because they nailed it (not the train wreck part). TAG provides a multitude of financial services for dealers, from a basic monthly summary of "things you need to be focused on" to a full accounting and tax package. I like recommending them because they also have a deep understanding of the Lightspeed DMS. They do a great job of helping dealers to extract the critical data from the DMS. As I have often found, 90% of the issues dealers have with Lightspeed relate to improper settings or user error. The TAG team can help to sort that out. I stumbled across the TAG team when they had less than 10 employees. I think they are now above 50. Many of them attended the conference, and they had no qualms about sitting down with their dealers and answering any questions dealers might have had. I'm not quite sure why I got an invite. I'm an introvert, and have no passion for public speaking. They let me ramble for an hour about misc things that I see in my NCM Associates 20 Group meetings. I focused on out of control parts inventories, but then veered off track into how the National Powersports Dealer Association is working to set up state dealer associations, and there were some other random subjects I touched on. I guess when you don't really have anything to sell, you have a lot of freedom to roam. Anyway, I'm appreciative of the opportunity to assist fellow dealers. I also enjoyed having the opportunity to learn more about a company that I've been promoting for the last 5 years.
