The first issue of Gist came out four years ago this month and was about the potential slowdown in EV sales due to Covid. This month’s Gist harkens back to that first issue, featuring a road trip that Jim Kapsis took in late July in his family’s new silver Rivian RS1. En route from Virginia to Maine, Jim and his family tested out the Tesla Supercharger network, newly opened to Rivian drivers. Features Sam D'Amico of Impulse and their incredible induction cooktop https://lnkd.in/gHYCHUuy "Impulse’s system can be integrated directly into a home’s wiring in a way that allows it to push electricity back into the home—and onto the grid. This means the cooktop could charge when electricity is cheap, and then a third party could sell that stored power back to the utility company when electricity is expensive, at times of peak demand, as part of what’s known as a virtual power plant."
