This could be the worst disaster in the US in 100 years.
You've probably heard about the hurricane that hit Appalachia and heard of a few hundred who lost their lives in the tragedy.
I had a call today with one of the biggest rescue op teams working out there -and its much much worse.
There are over six THOUSAND people missing. Every day that passes is critical. These people are in the mountains, with no comms, food, water, resources. Teams are on horseback, on foot, helicopters / drones - you name it.
I'm looking for volunteers - devs, data scrapers, anyone anywhere, who can help me build a resource so citizen-led teams can rebuild in an organized fashion.
These people have been my new family this past year. They take care of each other, work hard - a lot of them live off the land - and they weren't ready for this. They need help.
PS - I'm using HubSpot + AI. We've been able to get resources loaded into the new customer agent to help survivors and citizens who've rallied to help the cause. We're working on an interactive map to show shelters, food drop locations, satellite coverage, etc. Experience with HubDB is a bonus.
If you know someone affected by this, send them hurricane-helper.com
If you want to donate, we've got a warehouse / trucks ready to ship stuff in - you can find the Amazon link on the site.
Thank you all
