Receiving a diagnosis of a life-threatening, chronic, or rare disease can be devastating. Beyond the physical and financial toll of a diagnosis, patients often pay a heavy emotional price as well. TAF’s Patient Advocates understand that people calling to seek our assistance need empathy and support. As TAF Patient Advocate Gineris Ortiz said in this weekend’s CBS Sunday Morning segment about the use of artificial intelligence in the customer service industry, “When you call, sometimes you just need someone to listen.” That’s why artificial intelligence will never replace human connection. To see the day when no person goes without treatment because of an inability to pay. #TAFCares #YouHaveTAF
About us
The Assistance Fund (TAF) is an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs by providing financial assistance for their copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and other health-related expenses. We currently manage nearly 100 disease programs, each of which covers all FDA-approved treatment for the disease named in the program. Since 2009, TAF has helped more than 190,000 people access critical treatment for life-threatening, chronic, and rare diseases. TAF's MISSION is to help insured people with life-changing diseases overcome the financial barriers preventing them from accessing treatment. TAF's VISION is to see the day when no person goes without treatment because of an inability to pay.
