The Association of Former Students traces its origin to the Ex-Cadets Association formed in 1879 and later to the A&M Alumni Association and Alpha Phi Fraternity. In 1919, a coalition was formed and adopted the name "The Association of Former Students." Since 1879 much has changed in organization and details, but the fundamental objectives of The Association remain the same. Mission: 1) Strengthen The Association of Former Students 2) Promote the interests and welfare of Texas A&M University 3) Perpetuate ties of affection and esteem formed in university or college days 4) Serve the Student Body

ICYMI: Seven Aggies are behind the latest release of College Football 25! College Football 25, a video game developed by EA SPORTS, released today. The game features Kyle Field and its traditions, including Reveille, the Aggie War Hymn and the Parsons Mounted Cavalry Spirit of '02 cannon. Seven former students contributed to the game and worked to incorporate the Spirit of Aggieland into its design - many of whom attended Texas A&M University's Visualization Program. EA SPORTS also ranked Kyle Field as the toughest place to play the game! The ranking is based on the game's "Homefield Advantage", as well as "home game attendance...team prestige, and more." On June 9, 2008, Mike Fossum '80 and his fellow astronauts aboard the International Space Station woke up to the Spirit of Aggieland. After the song, Fossum shared some kind words about his family and Texas A&M. Fossum joined Texas A&M following his retirement from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration – Johnson Space Center in 2017. Colonel (RET.) Fossum is now serving as a Vice President of Texas A&M, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Texas A&M University Galveston Campus , and the Superintendent of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy.
80 years ago on June 6, 1944, over 150,000 troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, which marked the start of the Allies’ liberation of western Europe from Nazi control. There are 9,380 Americans honored at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Colleville-sur-Mer, France- 20 of those being Aggies. On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we say "Here" for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and we thank those who continue to do so each day.
