The Beech Hill School is off to a great start this year, and we know that we are lucky to be so fortunate. We are wishing the best to all educators that are kicking off their new school year!
In 2011, I was presented with the unique opportunity to be the Founding Head of School at The Beech Hill School. At the time, I could never have anticipated all that it would entail leading a new school in this beautiful, bucolic setting. From a burst pipe and a hurricane in the opening weeks of the first year - to a world-wide pandemic, the challenges were numerous and never quite the same. Despite those realities, the start of Year13 at BHS has been as invigorating and exciting as I can recall. An experienced and thoughtful faculty have welcomed our students, new and returning, to a campus where kindness and positivity is "the vibe." I love rolling up to school in the morning, full of optimism and am lucky to roam the campus throughout the day, witnessing the ways in which my students engage in the well crafted plans that my teachers have been creating all summer. I know it is still very early in the year and there will most certainly be unexpected challenges ahead, but for the moment, I am grateful to drink in the joy of a new school year. I hope that my colleagues, peers, and leaders at schools everywhere are off to an equally inspiring and energizing start to their year!
