In the evolving landscape of speech-language pathology, a pivotal study has emerged, spotlighting the experiences of autistic #SLPs. This research explores the delicate balance these professionals maintain between their personal identities and their roles within the field, shedding light on the challenges they face, including stigma and ableism, and their neurodiversity-affirming approaches to practice. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion in our profession, and drawing from my own experiences as a university professor and someone who has navigated the academic and professional world with a late diagnosis of ADHD, I recognize the importance of this study. It calls for a deeper understanding and support of #neurodivergent professionals, emphasizing the unique strengths they bring to our field. This study serves as a call to action for our community to more actively embrace the neurodiversity paradigm, ensuring that speech-language pathology is a field where all practitioners and clients feel truly supported. Let's commit to fostering an environment that values and uplifts every voice.
