Providing behavioral health, education, and child welfare services to children, youth, and families in Ohio.

About us

The Buckeye Ranch is a private, nonprofit organization with a comprehensive array of mental health treatment options for children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch is committed to providing high-quality care utilizing the most up-to-date, scientific knowledge to address the challenges faced by the children, young adults, and families we serve. We actively seek the most current research-based treatment approaches in our relentless commitment to providing the best possible care to children, young adults, and families. The Buckeye Ranch also takes a strengths-based approach with every child, young adult, and family. We believe that these strengths can be accessed to help families reach their full potential because families are fundamental in the lives of children and, therefore, central to the treatment we provide. Our families are struggling to overcome serious issues including abuse, neglect, mental illness, suicidal tendencies, addictions, and other life debilitating concerns. Because of this, The Buckeye Ranch is much more than a place. It’s a comprehensive network of skilled professionals, working as a team to provide children and their families with the treatment, guidance and support they need to raise hope and move on to a better place. The Buckeye Ranch is currently serving more than 2,500 children and families from Franklin and other counties every day, at six (6) different locations throughout Ohio. -

Exciting News!🌱 We are thrilled to announce that our Residential Treatment Campus in Grove City has been awarded a Grow Ohio Grant through Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Office of Nutrition to create a community garden! This hands-on project will allow our youth to engage with nature and nurture plants from seed to harvest. 🧑🌾Partnering with our residential cafeteria, the garden’s fresh produce will be used in meals across campus, allowing our youth to nourish their community in a truly special way. Visiting families can also participate, planting seeds for growth together! 🥕While the days may have turned chilly, the garden is beginning to take shape! This week, team members from Overmyer Hall Associates joined our Maintenace team to construct three raised garden beds and a composter.🌻 Their efforts have laid the foundation for a space of exciting therapeutic opportunities that will help our youth grow socially, emotionally, physically and educationally. Youth also started seeds to sow in the garden this spring at their Fall Festival! 🙏Thank you Overmeyer Hall Associates for generously giving your time to this project, and to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Office of Nutrition for the funding that has made this project possible. #CommunityGarden #TheBuckeyeRanch

🚧 Progress is moving full speed ahead with our Residential Treatment Services campus expansion! 👷♂️ As the youth mental health crisis continues to grow, we are expanding our Residential Treatment Services campus to provide added capacity for residential care in our community. We’ve partnered with Nationwide Children's Hospital to create a new Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) program on our Grove City campus. This program is already operational with 6 beds on our campus, helping higher acuity youth transitioning from psychiatric hospital care.💚 By late summer 2025, the campus expansion will upgrade community spaces to support additional youth on campus, as well as provide a new 57,000 sq./ft. building will offer an additional 28 Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) beds and 20 PRTF beds, expanding our capacity to support even more youth in need. Follow us for more updates on this exciting project! Want a sneak peek? In partnership with Nationwide Children's Hospital PRTF benefits youth and their families through collaboration between our community's top mental and behavioral health experts, and is the first program of its kind in Ohio. 🛏️This program is currently operational with 6 treatment beds on our Residential Treatment Services campus in Grove City.
