A BIG thank you to Yulista Holding LLC and Yulista Cares for hosting a toothpaste and deodorant drive for us at tonight’s Trash Pandas game. Students who smell good learn better. We have no research to support this, but everybody knows it’s true 😉💙

Our first ever Homecoming Shop is in the books. We had a great time helping students find their perfect HOCO fit, and we can’t wait for next year! Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who came out yesterday and today to help set-up, guide shoppers, and clean up. You are the real HOCO Kings and Queens 👑💙 (Picture posted with student permission)

There’s still time to sign up to shop with us tomorrow for free at the Madison County Schools Virtual Academy on Jordan Road! We have clothes for young men and women: suits, dresses, ties, shirts, shoes, jewelry and more if you know a student in need. https://lnkd.in/ehz6VTRS

A big thank you to Blake Mathis and One Generation Away for gifting us water bottles, storage bins and other goodies for our closets! Their dedication to nonprofit teamwork is inspiring and so very appreciated 💙 Also, a big shout out to Board Member Melanie Hartwig who drove out to Decatur and loaded up her vehicle with these treasures. It was hot, y’all, and it was a bunch of stuff 🥵 She’s a trooper for our kids.

Guess what??? Thanks to an amazingly generous donation from Sam Bell Hulin and Bradley Hulin of BH Splicing, we will complete our first full feeder system by installing our 12th care closet at Hazel Green High School in November! This means that from pre-K through graduation, the children of the Meridianville and Hazel Green communities will have access to essential resources on site at every school they attend!! 🙌🏻 Sam and Bradley are proud HGHS graduates, and both of Sam’s parents, Jeff and Laynette Bell, taught at the school. Their gift in honor of their roots will have a lasting impact on Trojans, present and future, and we can’t thank them enough. ❤️🖤

Took a tour of Harmon Scrap Metal this morning, one of our closet sponsors for this school year. Thank you, Kelly Chambers, for showing me all the ways that your facility helps local customers recycle metal responsibly and earn money doing it. Plus, I got to pet a really good dog, which is always the highlight of any outing 🐶🥫♻️💙
