It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved colleague, Sarah Johnson, LCSW, MPA. Sarah was more than a therapist at The Center for Self-Actualization—she was a guiding light, a source of comfort, and a tireless advocate for her clients. Her unexpected passing has left an immeasurable void in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sarah’s warmth and compassion radiated through every aspect of her life. She was someone who never hesitated to go the extra mile, always ready to offer an empathetic ear and extend a hand to anyone in need. Her background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a master’s degree in social work from Illinois State University and a Masters of Public Administration from Roosevelt University, enriched our practice with a profound level of skill and care. Sarah’s expertise was matched only by her incredible capacity for love and understanding. Her work touched the lives of children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those grappling with PTSD, self-harm, and other deeply challenging circumstances. Sarah believed in the healing power of transformation, often reminding those around her of the simple yet profound truth: “Without change, there would be no butterflies.” She saw the potential for growth in every hardship, and she embodied the gentle strength needed to guide others through life’s most difficult moments. To honor Sarah’s life and her dedication to helping others, The Center for Self-Actualization has planted a memorial garden in her name—a living tribute to her angelic spirit, which will continue to inspire hope and healing for all who visit. If Sarah touched your heart, as she did ours, you are welcome to share a note or memory about her below. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the countless lives she impacted, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the honor of working alongside her. Rest in peace, Sarah. You will always be in our hearts.
