    We’re back with another BHC Team Spotlight, introducing you to the exceptional individuals behind our hotels, restaurants, venues and home office. This month’s spotlight is on Jennie Jaus, Door Greeter and member of the Guest Services team at The Charleston Place. Q: Where are you from? A: Charlotte, North Carolina. Q: How long have you been with The Charleston Place? A: A little over two years. Q: What is a skill you’ve always wanted to learn? A: I wanted to join the Navy and become a meteorologist! I love anything related to the Earth, atmosphere, and outer space. Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? A: I would love to travel to Ireland to explore my family’s roots! Or to NYC for Yankee baseball and Broadway shows. Q: What’s your favorite thing about your job? A: I love my job on every level — from the company I work for, to the hotel management, to all the guests who visit Charleston's Living Room. I love it all! Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how would you use it? A: Zoolingualism! I'd use it to talk to all kinds of animals, especially sharks (they're my spirit animal!). Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off in Charleston? A: My favorite days off are spent by the water, whether on a beach or near marshland. I especially love Folly Beach!

    We are excited to embark on a grand new chapter at The Charleston Place! “CP Reimagined” consists of a series of interior and exterior projects, being completed in phases, that will elevate and enhance The Charleston Place experience for generations to come. Leading this ambitious project is Atelier Kim, BHC’s full-service luxury design studio, helmed by the talented Jungsoo Kim, IIDA, LEED AP, Founder and Design Principal. The $150+ million, multi-phased reimagination of the iconic hotel will transform nearly every space including the main entrance and arrival experience; the lobby and public spaces; spa and fitness center; meeting and event facilities; 433 guest rooms and suites; two-story Club Lounge; food and beverage outlets; retail spaces; and the Market Street Circle courtyard. Atelier Kim’s sophisticated redesign for The Charleston Place aims to further elevate the luxury property while preserving and celebrating its historic integrity, classical architecture and cultural vibrancy.  Stay tuned as we reveal more about the transformation of The Charleston Place, celebrating a new era of elegance and sophistication for Charleston’s Living Room.
