⭐Volunteer Spotlight⭐ Meet Laura: Laura began volunteering in 2019 and is a stay-at-home mom with two active kiddos. She also works for her family’s small business on the side. Laura serves TherAplay as a sidewalker and TAAG session leader every Tuesday morning. One of her favorite memories was interacting with kiddos at Horsepower a few years ago. In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking their dog Birdie, horseback riding, and traveling. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and she can usually be found at a soccer field watching her kiddos do what they do best! Something people may be surprised to learn about Laura is that she grew up on a dairy farm in Indianapolis. Once Laura’s kiddos started in school full time, she wanted to find ways to give back to the community. She drove by TherAplay every day and wondered what kind of work was done here, and once she found out we work with incredible kiddos AND horses, Laura thought... “Where do I sign up?!” ⭐“I believe horses are incredibly therapeutic and I know they are helping these kids in more ways than they realize. It’s even therapeutic for me to come back each week. I love seeing the kids develop new skills, strength and abilities!” -Laura⭐

This summer we were, once again, the beneficiaries of an incredible Naptown Bourbon Cub event! We got the chance to join acclaimed Chef Edward Lee and Four Roses Distillery for a fun dining experience at Half Liter Beer and BBQ Hall. This event featured a 5 Course Bourbon inspired meal prepared by the Sahm's Cullinary Team and derived from Chef Lee's cookbook, Bourbon Land! We are so lucky to experience unique fundraisers like this all in support of our mission! Thank you to the Naptown Bourbon Club, Chef Lee, Half Liter, Four Roses, Sahm's Team, and all our supporters 🤩

Hey Y'all, have you heard? The numbers are in and our 22nd annual Hoe-Down raised - OVER $525,000!👏🥳 As our biggest fundraiser of the year, our Hoe-Down is crucial to our mission. With the contributions of our supporters and party guests, we can continue providing skilled therapy to our incredible kiddos 💜 Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, staff, and supporters for making the 22nd annual Hoe-Down such a success! We'll can't wait for next year!

We are excited to announce that Bre received a $12,000 grant coordinated by United Way of Central Indiana and made possible through funds from the Lilly Endowment, which will allow her, her husband, and their son to take a vacation to Costa Rica! There they will get the chance to interact and learn more about endangered wildlife, hike along the Rio Celeste River, and spend quality time together as a family. Bre has been with TherAplay for almost 20 years and has served in many roles including (but not limited to) Events Manager, Facilities Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Office Manager. She is dedicated to serving our families and is a vital part of Children's TherAplay. We are so proud of Bre and can't think of anyone more deserving 👏🤩

⭐Volunteer Spotlight⭐ Meet Linda: Linda is a retired physical therapist of 30+ years, where she incorporated hippotherapy into her treatments! She also has 20 years of executive director experience at therapeutic riding and hippotherapy centers. Pre-Covid, Linda was a PRN here at TherAplay and also volunteered briefly as a horse handler when the barn needed help! Something people may be surprised to learn about Linda is that she enjoys writing! Linda started volunteering here at TherAplay about 7 or 8 years ago. Linda said she started volunteering here so she could stay involved with hippotherapy. During her free time, Linda enjoys volunteering, riding horses and bikes, walking, kayaking, reading, traveling, and dog training. Linda serves TherAplay as a sidewalker, TAAG volunteer, and has recently joined the volunteer committee! Linda does not have a specific favorite memory, just enjoys seeing the kids progress over time. ⭐"I continue to volunteer here because I believe in the power of horses to have a positive impact on kids, and I really enjoy interacting with the kids, therapists, and other volunteers.” -Linda⭐

Another year, another fun and successful Mudsock Fest! We are so thankful to the organizers of Mudsock Fest for creating such a special event that raised $7,250 in support of Children's TherAplay!! With these funds they will, once again, sponsor Luna's stall and another horse for the year!

Today we got to celebrate Ms Teresa's 10 year workiversary 🥳 We are grateful for her time, talent, knowledge, and years of hard work. Her dedication to TherAplay has made a lasting impact not just on her kiddos, but our staff and community as well 💜 Congrats and cheers to Ms Teresa for 10 years with Children's TherAplay 👏(and early congrats to our sweet therapy dog AJ who has been here by Ms Teresa's side for almost 8 years!)
