Travis was serving as bishop of his ward when he found himself in need of new employment. He successfully found a job by using two of the Church’s free resources for job seekers: 1. “Find a Better Job” self-reliance class 2. Active Job Search group Here's what he said: “The Active Job Search (AJS) group was instrumental in finding the job I believe I deserved. “I began my job search by participating in a local self-reliance workshop [‘Find a Better Job’], which was hosted by our stake. “After completing the course, my instructor suggested I participate in an AJS group and explore the other employment services the Church offers online. “I am very grateful for this recommendation. I was assigned a coach, who was fantastic, and meeting every weekday morning in an AJS group with the missionaries and participants provided the spiritual and mental support I needed during my job search while also helping to improve my job search skills. “Participation was easy, and I found that when I made an effort to participate and accept assignments, then I made progress. “Progress looked different for each participant, and I enjoyed being able to celebrate the wins each participant was experiencing along their journey. I strongly recommend AJS for any job seeker.” -Travis Quiller Learn more about Active Job Search groups here: https://lnkd.in/g2_Jref9 To attend a “Find a Better Job” self-reliance class, please contact your bishop, as these classes are held locally. #JobSearchTips #jobsearch #CareerGoals

About us
"This work is so liberating: to be employed in an organization wherein we have the ultimate freedom to use true principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in our work each day. Having access to all truth and applying it in our daily performance is the most liberating thing I know. This truly is the work of the kingdom of God." —Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work. From the IT professional who develops an app that sends the gospel message worldwide -- to the facilities manager who maintains our buildings, giving Church members places to worship, teach, learn, and receive sacred ordinances, our employees seek innovative ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world. They are literally working in the Kingdom. “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints extends its heartfelt congratulations to Salt Lake City on securing the bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics. We celebrate this news, recalling the feelings of unity, peace, and friendship that characterized the event when it was last hosted in Utah in 2002. “We stand ready to support the 2034 Olympic Games in welcoming athletes, volunteers, and visitors from around the world. The Church is committed to efforts that make Salt Lake City a host city that embodies values of service, cooperation, and mutual respect. As the home of the international headquarters of the Church, we will work with organizers at both local and international levels to welcome the world as 2034 draws near.” —The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

We all make mistakes. When we fall short at home or at work, it can be easy to become discouraged. As you strive to overcome your weaknesses, be compassionate with yourself. The purpose of life is to grow and learn—not to avoid ever making a mistake. “I cannot speak highly enough of Employment Services and the invaluable impact it had on my career journey. “From the moment I engaged with this service, I was met with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine commitment to helping me succeed. “One of the unique features of Employment Services was their comprehensive approach to empowering job seekers, starting with inviting the Spirit for guidance. “They not only taught me how to build a compelling resume, [they] instilled in me the confidence needed to excel in interviews … [as well as] focusing on involving the Spirit and absolute need for spiritual strength during my time of job searching. This newfound confidence was transformative—it allowed me to showcase my skills and articulate my worth effectively. -Ryan Felshaw Learn more about what Employment Services offers here: https://lnkd.in/gskkNfhz #employmentservices #careersearch #hiring

“When you bless a child, you bless the future, you bless generations,” says Camille N. Johnson, General President of the Relief Society of the @churchofjesuschrist. “It’s through collaborations with these kinds of organizations [like USA for UNHCR] that we can do the most good.” The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is giving $6 million to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to help nearly 85,000 refugees in Chad, Ethiopia, and South Sudan who have fled from recent violence in Sudan. “This contribution means a lot. It means that we are able to service and be present in some of the most critical emergencies around the world,” says Suzanne Ehlers, Executive Director and CEO of USA for UNHCR. Natural disasters, civil unrest, war, emergencies, and famine—all of these devastating circumstances impact individuals across the globe. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aims to help people prepare for and overcome such situations. This includes efforts like emergency preparedness and psychological first aid. At its core, the Church’s emergency relief effort aims to help the one. Individuals who receive aid can better support their families and communities. Then, as communities receive temporal and emotional relief from the Church, they can overcome crises, rise above disasters, and build anew. The Church also often works with local governments to address the needs of citizens during emergencies and other crises. We are currently working on many emergency response efforts around the world.
