Recovering the American Idea
About us
With its mission to “to restore the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life,” the Claremont Institute has for nearly 40 years been a strong and effective leader in the movement for limited government, free markets, and a strong national defense. Founded in 1979, the Claremont Institute publishes the Claremont Review of Books, sponsors the Publius, Lincoln, and John Marshall Fellowships for rising conservative leaders, and administers a variety of programs on politics and constitutionalism. The Claremont Institute’s focus is on the principles that must inform sound policy rather than the day-to-day policy itself.

'Democracy Awakening' presents itself as a rigorous historical study, but quickly devolves into a partisan vehicle to disparage Trump and the MAGA movement. Douglas A. Jeffrey examines what these distortions mean for the political health of our nation. https://lnkd.in/eBkyycRn

Jack Smith’s relentless lawfare against President Trump is a direct assault on our Constitution and the will of the American people. It blatantly seeks to undermine the Supreme Court’s recent ruling, which affirmed the limits of judicial oversight over presidential actions. The Claremont Institute is at the forefront of the fight against this dangerous lawfare, committed to defending America’s constitutional founding and upholding the rule of law.

"There are no more Knights in academic economics, which is why it is unlikely we shall ever see someone like Friedman again. But rather than being the 'last conservative,' Milton Friedman is better honored as the last political economist." https://lnkd.in/eQbURem2
