Your name is your identity. Mispronouncing someone’s name can leave them feeling ashamed and ostracised. Some go as far as picking a second ‘normal-sounding’ name. We need to make it so that no one is ashamed of a name that represents their heritage and identity. #MyNameIs was created to celebrate cultural names by normalising phonetic name spellings in everyday life and the workplace. Using the Fuh-Net-Ic Filter, get the phonetic spelling of your name and share it on social media through a fun and engaging piece of content. #VoicesOfChange: Miranda Hart Comedian and actress Miranda Hart has been a star of stage and screen throughout her 30-year career, but it wasn’t until August 2024 that she revealed she had been suffering with a chronic illness. In her new book, titled I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You, Hart discusses her struggles with Lyme disease – which she has said took doctors 33 years to diagnose after initially just saying she had agoraphobia. In the book, she expresses her anger with the battle to get doctors to treat her symptoms much more seriously: “I recalled all the times I'd told different doctors, "I feel toxic and poisoned, or, it’s like I have flu every day but I don't have a temperature. […] I felt anger rising at the times l'd been told I must have agoraphobia.” Hart’s symptoms also lead to her becoming bed bound and house bound with ME/CFS, causing her to step away from the limelight as she dealt with her symptoms.  She also expressed her fears about revealing her diagnosis to the public, as she worried she would be seen as 'complaining' or 'just tired all the time'. In an interview on the Graham Norton Show, Hart mentioned that she was inspired to finally come forward with her story after seeing Selena Gomez’s documentary ‘My Mind & Me’, in which details the challenges she’s faced with Lupus and Bipolar Disorder. Hart wants the book to show those that are facing similar issues that there is always hope things can get better. The book hopefully will bring more knowledge and understanding about the symptoms that come with experiencing a chronic illness. #MirandaHart #ChronicIllness #TheCollaboratory

What is the difference between #Diversity, #Equity & #Inclusion (DEI)? 🔹 Diversity is the variety and inclusion of people based on, but not limited to, ethnicity, age, disability, culture gender, sexual orientation, class, religion.   🔹 Equity refers to fairness and justice, recognising and acknowledging that everyone has different circumstances with room to adjust to imbalances. 🔹 Inclusion allows all voices to be heard, with opportunities and resources equally being provided to those who often find themselves marginalized in working or societal environments. In the UK, the employment rate for ethnically diverse citizens is just 62.8% - making the need for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) even greater. DEI ensures everyone, regardless of their background, has an equal opportunity to be seen and heard, creating environments that open pathways to success and celebrating everyone’s unique qualities and cultures. By prioritising DEI, we can break down the barriers of discrimination and bias and give everyone an equal chance to participate in not just working environments but in society as a whole.
