Robin Kohama's work was selected for the 2023 AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit, which features exceptional artwork from AP students' final portfolios. Learn more about Robin's work: http://spr.ly/6040qTPIu From Robin: "The titles of the chosen works are "The Art of Nature" and "The Burnt Sky." I decided to take the landscape picture to capture nature's and the city's beauty. The question that pushed me when I took these two photos is: How do you get out of your comfort zone in photography? It is easy to take one shot without thinking about it. Trying a new way different from what we used to do is stepping out of our comfort zone in photography. When we do it, we will start thinking about each photo we take. I chose multiple composites to achieve such a broad frame, which is very different from the single images I'm used to. If you stay in one style, you will stop making progress. You will have infinite possibilities by having the courage to explore and try new shooting methods." #APArt #APArtandDesign

Prettlophine Cotton's work was selected for the 2023 AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit, which features exceptional artwork from AP students' final portfolios. Learn more about Prettlophine's work: http://spr.ly/6042UQV4n From Prettlophine: "My goal as an artist is for people to see parts of themselves through my work, through my characters in the big and tiny details. My work is for everyone, all the kids sitting alone exploring cartoons just like I was as a child. I invite them to stand with me in being different, not fitting the norm, and branching out to do something that has yet to be seen. The question that guided my inquiry was: How different would life be if we could go to different universes in our multiverse? We follow the main characters, Alejandra and Nelly, throughout their journey into the multiverse. We watch them grow and meet many unique faces throughout the multiverse! I love expressing my imagination through expressions and character design; the thrill I get from telling my stories through my backgrounds and character depth is a joy I am excited to share!" #APArt #APArtandDesign

Paul Angert's work was selected for the 2023 AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit, which features exceptional artwork from AP students' final portfolios. Learn more about Paul's work: http://spr.ly/6041UPRT7 From Paul: "This work, titled "Unaligned," explores the inner struggle to find individuality and a sense of self through movement, line, and an abstracted human figure. The composition of vertically aligned, descending easel pieces symbolizes the struggles, environments, and seemingly fixed structure society has created for an individual to develop and achieve “success.” As the piece moves from left to right, the figure on the right “un-aligns” or tears away from the vertical structure of the easel pieces. The transition from the easels to the figure represents the internal steps taken to discover oneself and find purpose in life, separate from the constricting aspects of societal pressures." #APArt #APArtandDesign
