Ohio's population has never shrunk before despite the seismic challenges disrupting our manufacturing sector through the Rust Belt years of the 1980s and even into the 2000s when we lost another 400,000 manufacturing jobs. Executive Editor Michael Shearer and the Columbus Dispatch Editorial Board recently published an opinion editorial discussing Ohio's population decrease as identified in our recent Dying Ohio series, published on October 13. "We all want Ohio to be a great home for generations to come. It's time for a more honest and open conversation about our state's long-term future, " stated the Dispatch Editorial Board.
