COMMIT Foundation teamed up with Higher Ground for an unforgettable week-long Couples Fly Fishing program in beautiful Sun Valley! Couples had the chance to reconnect with their purpose and values, guided by expert instructors and blessed with incredible weather. The transformation was truly beyond words. And the fun didn’t stop there—who could forget the laughter and bonding over a friendly (and hilarious) game of sled hockey? 🏒 #Veterans #CouplesRetreat #FlyFishing #Purpose #Transformation #COMMITFoundation #HigherGround Higher Ground | James Hedges | Matthew Krumwiede | Michele O. |

Critical Gaps in Veteran Transition Support A recent GAO report, highlighted by Stars and Stripes, revealed a troubling oversight: the Pentagon is failing to adequately track the challenges Special Operations Forces (SOF) face when accessing the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). Despite their higher completion rates, SOF personnel struggle with program timing, leaving critical gaps in support as they navigate the complex transition to civilian life. At The COMMIT Foundation, we understand that transitioning is more than just checking a box. It’s about finding purpose, rebuilding identity, and reconnecting with a supportive community. Our holistic, individualized approach helps veterans and their families create meaningful lives beyond their uniforms. We’re doing the work—bridging the gaps and offering comprehensive support to SOF veterans who need it most. Every veteran deserves to transition with dignity and purpose.
