I graduated from the first public all-girls school in the state of Texas. It sounds rather simple, but both innovation in public policy and private philanthropy made a high-quality public education possible for me. It was the catalyst for my economic mobility and the transformation of my generational outcomes. I am honored to be an alumna of the Young Women's Preparatory Network and to serve as a board member amplifying its mission to prepare young women for a higher education and life. Recently, Emma P. Chalott Barron and I had the opportunity to share our journey with the Dallas community and provide our life updates to former Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (whom welcomed our 6th grade class nearly two decades ago). Among these updates: we earned our college degrees and are going for more, we earn a living wage, and we're just getting started!). It's true!--> Girls Today. Women Tomorrow. Leaders Forever.
