The ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF is asking Virginia residents to share their input by participating in a survey that will be used to inform potential greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction plans for Virginia's 2025 Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP). Help develop our community's plan to address our changing environment! Our support for cleaner transportation in our community continues! Here are some views from the train last week on our way to join a delegation from Charlottesville and Albemarle County to check out the onsite zero-emission hydrogen bus fuel production facility in Champaign-Urbana, IL! ⚡🌱 It has been informative to learn all about how MTD runs its system inside and out while paying special attention to its modern, super-reliable hybrid diesel buses. CAT is currently expanding its fleet in advance of its plans to decarbonize the fleet by 2040 - join C3 in calling for an expansion that uses cleaner diesel-hybrid buses instead of conventional diesel, and let's get a jump start on decarbonization now! Please join The Community Climate Collaborative, POCACITO , and Heinrich Böll Stiftung Washington, DC for a local and global youth climate film screening and panel discussion at Light House Studio on Thursday, October 24, from 6:30-8pm. 🎞️📽️ We are very excited to host two prominent Fridays for the Future leaders at the event - Helena Marschall, who directed the 2023 short film "Another World Is Possible", and Luisa Neubauer, who was the named plaintiff in the successful 2020 suit "Neubauer vs Germany," which resulted in the German government adopting more ambitious and far-reaching decarbonization targets. We will also showcase youth advocacy here at home with a series of short films made by local C3 teen interns from the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County over the summer. Featuring opening remarks from Albemarle County Board's newest Supervisor Mike Pruitt, a panel discussion with our guests and local youth, and opportunities for an audience Q&A, this event will underscore the importance and impact of climate advocacy for decision-making at every level.
