🚨🚨 In this week’s industry news update, researchers at the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan just unveiled something extraordinary: the world’s tiniest quantum computer. It operates at room temperature, encodes information using a single photon, and has the ability to process data up to 100M times faster than traditional computers. Why is this such a big deal? ➡️ Conventional computers use bits (0 or 1), but a quantum system uses photonics to process information. A single photon’s wave packet can encode information in 32 dimensions, unlocking exponential compute power and solving problems that conventional computers can’t, faster. This breakthrough brings quantum computing closer to practical, commercial applications; gone are the days of room-sized quantum computers and complex cooling requirements. With this milestone, we’re talking about quantum processing power that can fit on your desk. 🤯 It could be the first major inflection point that moves quantum computing from the lab and into the marketplace. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eUpz_5Ve 👉What industry do you think will be the first to adopt this technology at scale? 🚘  Ever been stuck in traffic, wishing you’d taken a different route? That's exactly how Waze began its journey from a small mapping project called FreeMap Israel to a $1.1 billion acquisition by Google. Their journey points to the importance of focusing on the problem you’re solving when you build any product. Here’s how: 1️⃣ They started with a real problem they experienced firsthand: Waze’s Founders were frustrated with traffic jams. They didn't set out to create a billion-dollar company – they just wanted to solve a problem that affected them personally. 2️⃣ Be open to change and willing to pivot: Waze began as a community project called FreeMap Israel, and at the time it had to be manually updated offline because 3G and 4G didn’t exist. The team kept pace with tech trends and adapted their app alongside them, unlocking real time data updates alongside crowdsourced traffic data. This flexibility was key to their success. 3️⃣ They made their product sticky: Even though they didn’t have much other than a blank slate when launching in the U.S. in 2009, Waze was able to engage a community of users by gamifying the in-app experience. They went from a few hundred drivers mapping 5,000 km in Israel to millions of users worldwide. 4️⃣ Iterate and improve as you build: Waze continually evolved: from manual uploads to real-time updates and from a blank U.S. map to a global navigation tool, but each iteration remained focused on solving the core problem they set out to address: traffic jams. By keeping their eyes on the problem they were solving, they navigated the twists and turns of building a product to reach the ideal destination. So, the next time you encounter a frustrating problem in your daily life, ask yourself: could this be the starting point of your next big idea? 👉 What everyday problem are you passionate about solving? Tell us about it in the comments below! #problem #solving #failure #fortune
