Whether it's taking a moment to meditate, enjoying a balanced diet, or getting active, every small step contributes to a healthier you. Happy International Youth Day! According to the United Nations, Half of the people on our planet are 30 or younger, and this is expected to reach 57% by the end of 2030. Here at The Connection, we serve the youth of Connecticut in several youth centered programs. Our longest running program for youth is the Start Program for Young Adults, which provides supportive housing, treatment services, life-skills education, and emergency housing with case management. Our other programming includes the Former Foster Care Youth Services, the Meriden Middlesex Wallingford Young Adult Crisis (MMWYAC) program, and Rehousing for Emerging Adults. Join us in celebrating the potential and achievements of our youth. The Connection recognizes that youth facing challenges need specialized services to succeed. We are proud of our program participants, many of whom continue to advocate for youth empowerment in Connecticut. #InternationalYouthDay #YouthEmpowerment #TheConnection #SupportYouth

On this International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, let’s honor the resilience, wisdom, and invaluable contributions that Indigenous peoples make to our world. This year, we shine a light on the theme: ‘Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact’. Indigenous Peoples in voluntary isolation and initial contact are the guardians of our forests. When their rights to lands and territories are upheld, forests and their communities thrive. Their survival is not only vital for the health of our planet but also for preserving cultural and linguistic diversity. Together, we can promote respect, recognition, and rights for all Indigenous communities by incorporating Indigenous history and culture into education, supporting Indigenous-led organizations, and amplifying their issues. Let’s come together to advocate for land rights, improve access to services, build respectful partnerships and raise public awareness to appreciate and understand Indigenous heritage. Take a moment to explore the striking past and present of Papua New Guinea through these captivating photos featured in Smithsonian Magazine: https://lnkd.in/eJyg5Ttf #IndigenousPeoplesDay #CulturalHeritage #UnityInDiversity
