Representation in the classroom matters because when students see themselves reflected in the curriculum, their teachers, and school leadership, they feel valued and empowered to succeed. It helps build confidence, fosters a sense of belonging, and ensures that all voices and experiences are heard. When every student can see their identity celebrated, we create an environment where everyone thrives. #RepresentationMatters #InclusiveEducation #EmpowerStudents

⏰ Time Management Tips for Teachers! ⏰ Managing time in the classroom can feel like a juggling act. With so many responsibilities, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Try these three practical tips to streamline your day and create more structure for both you and your students: 1️⃣ Add Extra Time to Everything: If you think an activity will take 30 minutes, plan for 45. This cushion helps account for transitions, student questions, or any unexpected interruptions. 2️⃣ Make the Most of Downtime: Use breaks between classes or planning periods to complete quick, easy-to-put-off tasks like organizing materials, responding to emails, or prepping for the next lesson. 3️⃣ Use a Visual Daily Schedule: Post your daily schedule in a visible spot to keep both you and your students on track. Update it weekly and include specific goals to maximize productivity. Have other strategies that work for you? Let us know in the comments! 👇 #TeacherLife #TimeManagement #TeachingTips #ClassroomManagement

Here are some quick tips to help: 1️⃣ Reflect on wins – Even the small ones matter. 2️⃣ Practice self-care – Prioritize rest and time for yourself. 3️⃣ Connect with peers – Share struggles, ideas, and encouragement with other teachers. 4️⃣ Keep your "why" in focus – Read these affirmations and reconnect with why you started teaching. 🌈 October is LGBTQ History Month! 🌈 LGBTQ History Month is a time to recognize the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ individuals throughout history. Celebrated each October, it’s an opportunity to honor figures who have shaped movements for equality, justice, and representation—many of whom are left out of traditional history lessons. For teachers, it’s a chance to foster inclusive classrooms that reflect the diversity of our world. By acknowledging LGBTQ History Month, educators can help students of all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and respected, while also teaching about the ongoing fight for equal rights. Including LGBTQ history in your curriculum not only promotes understanding but also empowers LGBTQ students by showing them they belong. 🏳️🌈 Let’s celebrate diversity and make sure everyone’s story is heard! #LGBTQHistoryMonth #InclusiveEducation #TeachLGBTQ

We extended our deadline! Facilitator applications for the summit are now open until October 15th. With The Summit, our organization offers an opportunity for all educators from across the city to experience professional development and an opportunity to connect as a larger community of educators. This year, the theme of The Summit is Restore: imagining a better tomorrow today. We are excited to gather with educators across the metro to proactively cultivate a better tomorrow, together. The Summit will have 10 professional development breakout sessions that will occur at two different times throughout the conference. Topics can vary from practical tools to try in the classroom that next week, to mindset shifts for approaching this career as a whole. If you or anyone at your school site has a PD session to share with others, forward this email to them and ask them to apply to present! We hope that this facilitation opportunity not only allows others to learn from session leaders but also allows session leaders to deepen their subject matter expertise, build their professional network, and reflect on and refine their own practices. Applications for facilitation spots are open now until October 15th. See the website for more details on the conference and apply today! https://lnkd.in/g9WXti2S
