Helping your child overcome neurological challenges starts by empowering you – the engaged parent – through an understanding of how the human brain functions and develops. This foundational knowledge will allow you to begin transforming your child’s struggles into challenges they can overcome – from your own home. #HopeComesHome In the Parent Training Conference, you will: ✅ Understand how injuries and poor function in the brain show up as developmental delays, learning disabilities, communication / motor / seizure disorders, and other conventional diagnoses (e.g., ADHD). ✅ Learn how to perform a comprehensive assessment of how your child’s brain is developing and find out which neurological pathways and physiological systems need the most support. ✅ Learn how to build a customized set of neurological activities and a nutritional protocol that will maximize your child’s brain growth and maturation. ✅ Learn how to successfully implement your child’s customized plan and oversee their progress at home.

How a Brain Becomes Injured: Birth-Related Complications The birth process, while biologically natural, can become complicated by factors that are not always foreseeable or preventable. As a baby moves from the womb into the birth canal, the umbilical cord can wrap around its neck in a manner that constricts blood flow. Since a developing fetus receives blood and oxygen through the mother's bloodstream and the umbilical cord, if the cord becomes tangled or compressed, there is a potential for the fetus to become oxygen-deprived for an extended period, resulting in brain-cell damage. This loss of oxygen is called anoxia. Anoxia is the number-one cause of brain injuries in children. In can occur in utero, during birth, or even after delivery. At the Family Hope Center, we work with parents of children who have an extensive and complex array of neurologically based challenges. The brain has an incredible ability to heal. We give parents the tools to make this happen.

Here's a synopsis of the first chapter of our book, 'Healing Your Child's Brain' entitled: Setting the Foundation for Healing "When a child receives a special needs diagnosis from a medical professional, parents begin a long and complicated journey. They process the news both emotionally and intellectually, educate themselves about their child’s condition, and research numerous treatment options before determining a plan of action. Many jump from one program or therapy to the next yet still wind up back in the same place feeling disheartened, frustrated, and angry. More often than not, parents are instructed to focus on what their child can’t do rather than what she can do. This is a neurological dead end" Available now where books are sold. How Does a Brain Become Injured: Gestational Conditions & Toxins During pregnancy, a baby’s brain is incredibly sensitive to its environment. Certain conditions and exposures can increase the risk of brain injury, leading to long-term challenges. Here’s how: 👤Oxygen Deprivation: Issues like pre-eclampsia can reduce oxygen supply to the fetus, potentially causing brain damage. 👤Infections & Inflammation: Infections like rubella or a strong immune response can disrupt normal brain development. 👤Exposure to Toxins: Alcohol, drugs, and environmental pollutants can cross the placenta and harm the developing brain. 👤Metabolic Conditions: Conditions like gestational diabetes can create stressors that increase the risk of preterm birth and brain injury. 👤Premature Birth: Babies born early have underdeveloped brains, making them more vulnerable to injury. At the Family Hope Center, we work with parents of children who have an extensive and complex array of neurologically based challenges. The brain has an incredible ability to heal. We give parents the tools to make this happen.

It’s hard enough to manage our self-esteem and mental health in a digital age as adults, but for our youngest generation, things could be even more difficult. Establishing clear social media boundaries for kids is becoming increasingly crucial in today’s connected world. Here's some great advice on how to do just that!
