Not throwing it too far back this week – but when we received these stunning images of the Twin Bridges from local photographer Ben Rekemeyer, we couldn't help but reflect on this 2013 milestone. Fort Miller was proud to play a pivotal role in the Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge (Twin Bridges) rehabilitation, supplying 236 lightweight precast concrete elements and developing a custom high-performance mix that enhanced load capacity and accelerated installation. This lightweight design strengthened the bridge while helping NYSDOT’s Accelerated Bridge Construction Program minimize lane closures and reduce commuter impact. Hats off to our talented team for their dedication to quality and innovation on this critical project! TBT!!! Throwback Thursday at Fort Miller! Today we go back 12-years to 2012 when we fabricated precast concrete bridge deck panels (with integral barrier), approach slabs, and sleeper slabs for Vector Construction Corporation (Cicero, NY) under the NYS Department of Transportation Accelerated Bridge Construction program. This reconstruction program replaced several bridges in Region-3 (Syracuse) of New York State, including work on Interstate-481.

Project Profile: Main Street, Town of Cornwall (Orange County) New York. Stage #1 Complete. Our 42-foot span three-sided bridges with precast wingwalls were successfully installed by the team at Halmar International / Transit Construction Corp. The five bridge units making up Stage 1 weigh 74,000-lbs each. Six additional units will make up Stage 2.
