Meet Steve, who, through our services and support, has become a continued advocate for criminal legal reform. Steve has a great appreciation for those who have helped him on his journey and supported his advocacy work. Steve has been involved with the David Rothenberg Center for Public Policy (DRCPP), among other organizations and campaigns, where he often spends long days with legislators in Albany for advocacy days, gathering with dozens of advocates supporting specific bills. The Fortune Society is excited to share our collaboration with Enterprise Community Partners in the creation of the Housing As A Pathway to Justice Toolkit (H2J). H2J helps affordable housing providers better serve justice-involved individuals. This new digital resource seeks to educate the affordable housing industry on fundamental barriers, identify opportunities, improve equity for justice-involved individuals, and highlight innovative approaches to address existing gaps. We are excited and honored to be in partnership with Astoria Bookshop, a queer woman-owned, general-interest bookstore in the heart of Western Queens. As an extension of their mission to serve their diverse, vibrant community with books and through hosting events, our collaboration will help our Creative Arts program fill the shelves of our Liberation Library. We believe that books are tools of liberation. We have curated a wishlist of titles that our community members have requested. Please purchase a book as a donation and help support our mission to inspire readers, one book at a time. https://lnkd.in/gwcqbwnZ
