Effective Organizational Communication. Say goodbye to lousy PowerPoints tm, boring speeches and droning sales pitches.

About us

The Communication Paradox: the more ways we invent technologies to make communication more efficient, the more it weakens our interpersonal communication ability. Besides the huge societal implications, the impact to business being felt each day. Today’s new workforce it interwoven with technological tools, and for millennials and the Gen Z recent college graduates, smartphones have been in front of their faces since middle school. The symptoms of this digital DNA are consistent: 1. C-suite communication failing to move organizations to a common objective. 2. Sales teams spending more time on email and texting, vs phone or in-person calls. 3. Technology teams inability to communicate complex ideas in understandable ways to non tech audiences. 4. Customer Support teams concentrating on clearing the call queue and failing to assist customers with alternative or up-sold solutions. The Ganon Group works with your teams to develop their interpersonal communication and presentation techniques and abilities. We believe everyone can “up” their game when it comes to communicating critical initiatives and ideas within the organization, outside to new prospects and existing clients, or to outside media and trade organizations. The Ganon Group serves across industries: media, technology, manufacturing; both at established and early stages. Bill Ganon also personally coaches graduate students at Columbia U in NYC and Tulane & Loyola Universities in New Orleans, and is a keynote speaker on sales and presentation performance. Bill is a frequent performer at The Moth ("True Stories Told Live") in both New Orleans and New York City and has won both GrandSlam and StorySlam competitions.

Professional Presentation Coach - “Make Your Next One, Your Best One” |Conference Emcee | Keynote Speaker | Retreat Facilitator | Award-Winning Storyteller

Reunion in SF! Tony Pribyl and I go back quite a few years to my Newsweek West Coast Ad Director days when Tony was pretty new in our SF office. We got back together this week while I’m working in SF and it was great to compare work and family notes. But he said something that kind of blew me away. He said he always remembered something I told him while we were coming back from a sales call. He said I told him how great his progress was because I’m noticing he’s starting to sound like himself when he’s talking about our magazine. He asked if I remembered that and I had to confess I didn’t. But what blew me away is that is the exact same message I give today when I’m coaching speakers or sales teams for presentations. I encourage them to know their material well enough so they don’t have to think about it, which allows them to be more relaxed and “sound like themselves”. It was a gratifying “wow” moment. Thanks Tony.

Nice picture taken from Catherine Brown recent conference #SellWell2024 in Houston, and I guess the secret in my vault is now out! Actually, delighted to share this with you for your career and just your weekend ahead. Being interested and asking thoughtful questions (and follow up questions) are the hallmarks of excellent communicators. And guess what...prospects who make buying decisions are more likely to listen and deeply exchange with sellers who are excellent communicators. Not *talkers*....communicators. Have an excellent weekend...and career.

T minus ONE WEEK until SellWell2024 in Houston. Spend a day with a broad range of professionals whom are always looking to improve their sales acumen as well as their referral acumen. Though it's one day only, you will come away with a full roster of new, helping-oriented colleagues who believe in the gospel of referring others. This is one of the foundational qualities of #Howgoodhumanssell by author and leader of the conference Catherine Brown. And if that's not enough...if you come, you'll get the opportunity to heckle the emcee, yours truly. An honor and job I so adore and am counting down the days. #emcee #salesconference #salestraining #presentationcoaching

Great way to spend a Sunday, volunteering at TEDx Nashville. Wonderful speakers, full house at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Met the great TEDx team and saw some familiar faces from our Nashville Professional Speaking Cohort like Nikki L. Garry, MSA.  Thank you Abby Cox for arranging my participation and introducing me to the team. #publicspeakingcoach #presentationcoach

I'm so excited to be "Em-ceeing" SellWell '24. Still time to attend in Houston on Friday Sep. 6. Invest in yourself with a one day, deep dive on not only specific sales changing practices, but even bigger, the chance to be integrated with a supportive, referral-minded group of good humans. Catherine Brown leads the #GoodHumansGrowthNetwork and this conference is one of the programs cornerstones. I'd love to see you all there if you can. Great turnout today at our Nashville Speaker's Group organized and lead by Beth Inglish. Tara Brown was our featured speaker and her topic was one of my all time favorites: Incorporating humor in your keynote. Great job Tara. Beth added on an excellent module for today's session on writing / outlining your keynote. So many colleagues and friends there...Sean Patton, MBA, ACC Sheri Traxler Rosa Castaño LouAnn Clark Mark Kenny Matt Lyles and many more. Great day. Thanks Beth and Tara!

I was reading about AI and how it may affect the future of the professional speaking business. As most who follow my posts know, I'm a big believer in how the movies and television have a galaxy of scenes that we can draw parallels from and learn. As I was thinking about the massive "genius" of AI, this scene from Good Will Hunting came to mind. I'll put the link in the comments. As you watch consider: 1. Doesn't young "Will" offer us a possible human version of AI? 2. Is Robin WiIliams's pyschologist "Sean" making the case that while AI is astounding on many levels, that without real life, real senses, real human experience; it's only a turbo charged library? Please, your answers to this and other thoughts are welcome. #NSAInfluence #ProfessionalSpeaking #KeynoteSpeaking

Had a ton of fun at the Tennessee MPI FUN-draiser at the new Puttshack in downtown Nashville! Super innovative entertainment venue, that kept the 50+ attendees, golfing and gulping on food and drinks! Met a fantastic group from @visitFranklin.com group - Brendan Johansen, Mykenzie Johnson, Brock Hurtle. Thanks to Debbie Garcia, CMP and the whole MPI planning committee for organizing this great event.
