Today, on the occasion of the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of all Totalitarian and Authoritarian Regimes, we pause to remember the victims of totalitarian and authoritarian regimes across Europe, especially the ones in #Albania. As part of the OriginAL program, our participants visit the Site of Witness and Memory in Shkodra—a museum dedicated to the dark period of communist dictatorship in Albania. During that time, over six thousand people were murdered, and countless others were tortured and persecuted for their political beliefs. We honor the memory of those innocent lives cut short and the many more that were brutally destroyed. It’s vital for us to understand the weight of this history. We are here to cherish life on behalf of those who couldn’t, to work and live fully, with the knowledge that there were some who, despite their desire, were denied this basic right. Open Call for Albanian Diaspora Scholars We are excited to announce an Open Call for Expressions of Interest and Proposals for Albanian diaspora scholars as part of our “Diaspora for Entrepreneurship Education” project, in collaboration EU4Innovation. Through this call, we are looking to engage 10 diaspora scholars with Albanian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary objective is to incorporate innovation and entrepreneurship into current and prospective courses across a range of study programs in Albanian universities. Diaspora Scholars will be involved in: 1. Co-designing and teaching entrepreneurship courses 2. Mentoring students and faculty 3. Leading workshops, supporting start-ups, and 4.
