  • What are the conditions under which humanity can thrive and develop, and how can impact investors work to achieve them? Join us this fall in Amsterdam to hear from internationally recognized sustainability scientist Johan Rockström at the GIIN Impact Forum as he discusses a climate framework he helped pioneer: planetary boundaries. The planetary boundaries framework was first published in 2009, with new analyses released in 2015 and 2023. These boundaries are considered fundamental “in maintaining a ‘safe operating space for humanity,’” according to the Stockholm Resilience Centre. Around the world, governments, NGOs and companies have embraced this framework to guide sustainability efforts, making it essential knowledge for impact investors aiming to drive meaningful change. Following Rockström’s address, Chief Programmes Officer of the IKEA Foundation, Marilia Bezerra, will discuss investing in systems change. To unlock these insights from Rockström and expand your impact investing knowledge and practice, join us in Amsterdam. The impact investing professionals that gather each year at the Impact Forum are crucial in shaping the future of our industry. Companies around the world are engaging with GIIN members to exchange insights and expertise in impact investing. Through the GIIN's corporate initiative, businesses from various sectors come together to share impact investment strategies and learn from their peers' experiences. Last month, #IKEASocialEntrepreneurship members shared their evolving impact investing strategy with a group of corporate impact investors. Here are four key takeaways from our insightful conversation. Visit our website to learn more and get involved: https://lnkd.in/e_8neaAp ➡ Impact investing can bring value to the business by integrating learnings and driving impact at the company level. IKEA Social Entrepreneurship operates as a company within the broader Inter IKEA Group and is separate from the IKEA Foundation. This structure allows it to execute impact investing to bring back learnings to the business and contribute to a more sustainable agenda. ➡ Corporate impact investing provides unique opportunities for employee engagement. Through mentorship programs, social entrepreneurs gain valuable knowledge from IKEA co-workers, while employees are exposed to innovative ideas and solutions. Both parties benefit: social entrepreneurs receive specialized expertise, and IKEA employees gain insights from the entrepreneurs' innovations and solutions. ➡ Impact investing strategies can evolve organically from existing sustainability programs. IKEA Social Entrepreneurship began with co-creating and funding business accelerators but has expanded to offer direct support and funding to social enterprises after their participation in it’s programs. It’s business accelerators now serve as a pipeline as it begins its impact investments. #IKEASocialEntrepreneurship #impactinvesting #impinv
