The Great Nepali Diaspora reposted this
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐀: 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐥 Women and youths constitute the demographic majority in Nepal; however, they remain the power minority. This inequality must be addressed to ensure the inclusive economic development of Nepal. Since 2013, Daayitwa has been dedicated to its vision of an enterprising Nepal, where every individual has opportunities for a prosperous future. Through Mission Aasha, we aim to build robust partnerships, garner support from the Nepali diaspora, and foster inclusive growth in rural communities of Nepal. This is a unique opportunity for Daayitwa, the Nepali community in the U.S., and subnational governments in Nepal to come together for a national cause. Our initiative aims to empower rural youth and women to accelerate entrepreneurship and employment opportunities in rural Nepal. Together, we can create lasting impact and amplify the hope that lives in Nepal. Stay tuned for more details in upcoming posts. *Please participate in this survey if you are Asian American* As an evaluation study of Dr. Robert Carter, Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Education at Columbia, Dr. Lisa Suzuki and the team are examining the emotional impact of racial encounters and how Asian Americans are affected by racial discrimination in terms of psychological and/or emotional reactions. The research is approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) and funded by NYU. Individuals will be asked to complete a short demographic survey and a series of scales focusing on encounters of racial discrimination, perceived stress, racial identity, and mental health status. Participation in the study is voluntary and there will be no consequences should an individual choose not to participate or withdraw from the study. Here's the link to the survey: http://rb.gy/cynduf Preeti Adhikary Haruka Kokaze New York University
