It's illegal for anyone to try to stop you from voting. If you experience any of the following, report it to the Election Protection Hotline* (866-687-8683) immediately Intimidation. This includes physically blocking entrance to voting (including ballot drop boxes), cursing at people waiting to vote, looking over people’s shoulders while they vote, questioning voters about their choices or citizenship status, or asking for identification unnecessarily. Coercion. This may include offering money to vote for a certain person, spreading false rumors about candidates or voting, displaying signs with false or misleading information, or impersonating poll workers. Threats. These may include comments such as “your family will be deported if you vote,” “you will be fired from your job if you vote,” or “your kid won’t make the football team if you vote.”

A personal note 💙: This morning, I sat in my parked car for ten minutes, feeling the heaviness of next week's election in my bones. As a progressive, a parent, and a professional, I'm finding myself paralyzed by thoughts about democracy, LGBTQ+ rights, free press, environmental protections, and our collective future. It's year-end fundraising season - typically my most exciting time. I'm still here, still delivering, still passionate about your work. But when people discuss polling or news, all I hear is a low hum. And no, a diet of Sugar Free Red Bull and Krimpets isn't the answer. (Trust me, I've tried.) To my clients: Your work is getting done, and done well. But I believe in authentic leadership, which sometimes means acknowledging when we're carrying extra weight - especially those in marginalized communities who bear the brunt of political uncertainty. Next week, I'll be back to Dazzlers and Duds and marketing trends. For now, if you're also finding it hard to focus - you're not alone. Please, feel free to leave a comment with your preferred expression of release - whether it's "AAAAAUGH!", "GRRRR!", "MEEP!", "ARGH!", or any other (workplace-appropriate) vocal release.
