Historic Hotels of America is pleased to announce Molly and Robert Hardie have been selected to receive the 2024 Historic Hotels of America Lifetime Achievement Award. For nearly two decades, the Hardies have been dedicated to revitalizing historic properties and preserving cultural heritage. Their commitment as owners, preservationists, and philanthropists has breathed new life into The Hermitage Hotel (1910) in Nashville, Tennessee and Keswick Hall (1912) in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The Hermitage Hotel and Keswick Hall exemplify the Hardies’ commitment to preserving historic properties while blending them with modern luxury. The Hermitage Hotel, a National Historic Landmark in Nashville, played a pivotal role in the Women’s Suffrage Movement and underwent a multi-year restoration that preserved its Beaux Arts architecture, adding two Michelin-starred restaurants. Keswick Hall, dating back to 1912, was transformed to combine its rich history with modern elegance, featuring sustainable practices, an infinity pool, the Full Cry Golf Course, and Marigold Restaurant by Vongerichten. Both properties reflect the Hardies’ vision of honoring heritage while offering contemporary luxury.
The 2024 Historic Hotels of America Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Molly and Robert Hardie on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Historic Hotels Awards of Excellence Ceremony & Gala in front of an audience of owners, general managers, and senior decision makers representing many of the finest historic hotels from across the United States and around the world. This year’s event will be held at The Omni Homestead Resort (1776) in Hot Springs, Virginia.
