For The Animals
About us
The Humane League is an global nonprofit ending the abuse of animals raised for food. We work to reform the way farm animals are treated while also inspiring people to make more compassionate food choices. Our strategy includes hard-hitting corporate campaigns and wide-ranging outreach and education programs, supported by an extensive network of organizations, activists and supporters around the world. In the US, we have on-the-ground organizers in major cities across the country. These grassroots staff build and strengthen local communities of changemakers that support our work and spread our message, amplifying our ability to create meaningful change for farm animals. Our reach extends globally with the Open Wing Alliance. Through grants and training, we work in partnership with organizations on every continent with the singular goal of ending cages for laying hens. Animals don’t have to suffer. Get involved to create the change. The Humane League is a 501(c)3 and Certified Best In America by the Independent Charities of America, a designation reserved for the top 5% of non-profits nationwide based on the ICA's rigorous standards of financial efficiency. For five consecutive rating periods, The Humane League has been rated as one of the top animal charities in the world by Animal Charity Evaluators.

Rabbits are farmed for pet stores, fur, animal testing, and meat. Add your name if you believe these defenseless animals deserve better than exploitation at the hands of humans! https://thl.link/3zBAXhB 🐇 #InternationalRabbitDay

Farmed animals desperately need MORE protection, not less. But some legislators are looking to strip pigs, calves, and other animals of their state and local protections 😡😡 Use your voice to defend these vulnerable beings! https://thl.link/3BuK2sY

Factory farming is trying to make significant inroads in Africa. Fortunately, there are strong advocates in the region that are resisting this pressure. Like Masengesho Jean Claude who worked with Rwanda's largest egg producer and seller, ABUSOL, to commit to stay cage-free in the face of increasing pressure from foreign companies to transition to intensive cage farming systems that significantly negatively impact animal welfare, the environment and the local economy. Daniel Abiliba & Jacob AYANG who exhibit strong vision not just in Ghana, but how the work they are doing can be extrapolated to resist and reverse harmful agricultural practices in the whole continent. Coming together recently as the Open Wing Alliance in Kenya, was a great opportunity to hear about the growing movement of advocates that are working to protect farmed animals in Africa.
