    IESNYC Spotlight on Diversity: June 2024 This month, we shine a light on Nira Wattanachote, Senior Associate at Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design Inc. Nira’s journey from Thailand to the US was marked by resilience and growth. With over 20 years in the industry, she’s known for her dedication to sustainability and innovation in lighting design. Her mentor, Francesca Bettridge played a key role in her development, teaching her the importance of communication and leadership. As an educator at Pratt Institute and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Nira passes on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of lighting designers. „Every project or situation has unique challenges and the most important thing is to be able to adapt and work through problems as a team,“ she says.     We were excited to announce the winners of the 2024 Lumen Awards at our 56th annual gala last Thursday. The event, held at Pier 60 in Chelsea Piers, gathered lighting professionals from across the industry to celebrate innovation and creativity in lighting design. Despite temperatures climbing above 90 degrees, attendees came dressed in their finest, many embracing the all-white dress theme to celebrate the Summer Solstice. The evening was filled with celebration as 11 projects were honored, showcasing a diverse range of architectural lighting design. The IESNYC recognized nine Merit Awards and two special Citations, highlighting the best in lighting design. With the Hudson River as a picturesque backdrop, the event provided an excellent platform for professionals to connect, celebrate achievements, and foster new relationships in the field.
