Thank you to the 38 The Incredible Years, Inc. Years mentors who came to the annual mentor meeting in Inverness, Scotland last week. It was fabulous to be with all these professionals who are committed to supporting children, parents and teachers. They represented 10 countries including England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Estonia, Finland, Canada, and US. They shared their training experiences and gave me feedback on the upcoming Basic Parent Program 2.0. We enjoyed time together singing and learning Scottish dances. The days were full of appreciation and support for each other’s work. It was an amazing experience and I am still dancing! Photos below are entire group, new mentors and me auditioning.

This week I had the pleasure of meeting 2 primary school teachers, Shorooq Araj and Ghada Rishmawi from the Bethlehem region of the West Bank. There were in Seattle for the Incredible Years classroom Dinosaur on-line training and plan to go for certification when they return. Here’s what they said, “We, as teachers, have more confidence when using the Dina Dinosaur Classroom program because it gives us so many ideas and strategies for helping the children. We know that this [the IY program] is the right way because of the results we have achieved with it.” “We use it [IY program] in our lives, with our children, neighbors and extended family!” They have been implementing this program for several years with children ages 6-12 who suffer from intergenerational trauma as well as other mental health issues. The IY curriculum, has been of tremendous help for the children, especially the emotion regulation skills, in dealing with their current heightened stress levels. Despite ongoing conflict, the students have continued to be successful using their IY skills to cope with the uncertainty of their situation. The Incredible Years, Inc.
