Denver needs guaranteed income in the 2025 budget! The Denver Guaranteed Income Now Coalition is calling on Office of Denver City Council to allocate $15 million over the next three years for direct cash assistance to those experiencing homelessness. We are deeply concerned by the recent news regarding a deputy sheriff's arrest for domestic violence. Law enforcement plays a crucial role in addressing domestic violence, yet cultural challenges within the system can impact survivors' trust. Some officers perpetrating domestic violence at higher rates than the general population create contradictions that undermine this trust, making it harder for survivors to report abuse or feel protected.
