The Division of Multicultural Affairs in partnership with the Center of Economic Opportunity and Belonging hosted a dynamic Pathways to Hope convening. We featured Hope researcher and scientist, Dr. Chan Hellman, along with exceptional community leaders, who discussed how we can cultivate hope in our work and develop it as a statewide strategy. It was an insightful day where community members were able to learn how hope can be a tool in their professional and personal lives. Thank you to Dr. Hellman and our expert panelists for their incredible work! To quote Dr. Hellman, "Hope is not about impulsiveness or habit-- hope is about intention."

Meet the 2023-2024 Morgan Stanley Fellowship cohort: Amanda W. is a Morgan Stanley Fellow who works with The INN Between’s development department to better communicate the value of their services. She has used her research and writing abilities to update their materials with impactful messaging toward their mission. The INN Between was established in 2015 to provide temporary medical housing services for homeless individuals in Salt Lake City, Utah. The INN Between is Utah’s only residential medical respite facility providing recuperative and end-of-life care licensed by the Utah Department of Health. “The reason I applied for the Fellowship at The INN Between was I thought what they were doing was very innovative and cool. I’ve been working with other organizations nationally on similar programs but they were always in places like Boston or Seattle, so the opportunity to contribute to something that was happening in my own backyard was exciting,” Amanda said.
