About us
Welcome change agent, to The Institute for Antiracism in Medicine. We are so glad you are here. The Institute of Antiracism in Medicine (IAM) exists to give people like you the tools to eradicate racism in all it's forms - starting with the eradication of unconscious racism within yourself. We will give you the knowledge, skills and support you need to become an Antiracist agent of change in Healthcare. IAM was founded on the belief that it is only through a concerted muilti-disciplinary, multi-institutional, multigenerational effort, as informed by an antiracist lens, can the health disparities created by racism be eradicated. Importantly, ours is an intersectional antiracism lens. We call for the pursuit of health equity for all along racial lines, including - and especially- those whose oppression is compounded by their gender identity, ability status, sexual orientation or other identities. The Institute for Antiracism in Medicine is an organization dedicated to eradication of racist thought, behavior and policy in our country and in our world. We believe that every person who is dedicated to human equality must do the difficult, but rewarding work of confronting their own biases. In short, we believe whole-heartedly in a version of the future we can imagine but can't touch yet. Our great hope is to get you to see it too. But even more, we want your help in making it real.
