What a great event! Thank you again to The DoSeum and its leadership Daniel Menelly, Richard Kissel, PhD for helping us celebrate Chinese New Year at your Big Day of Play. We had such a wonderful time watching lion dance performances, eating traditional sweets, learning Chinese calligraphy, and making dragon masks. Thank you to all who came and helped us ring in the year of the dragon!
A great pleasure greeting a near capacity crowd on campus at San Antonio's DoSeum for today's Big Day of Play to celebrate the opening of Flying Fish's Mission: Astronaut. Our team shines in moments like these, when the planets align and we see a huge turnout for programs envisioned far in advance of the day itself. We began work on Mission: Astronaut two years ago, on the idea that unique experiences like The Great Solar Eclipse, particularly near the Path of Totality, spur a huge interest in space content. I learned this lesson as President of the RMSC (Rochester Museum & Science Center) in 2017 and I have a great many fond memories of that special time. Thank you to our close, admired partners at International School of San Antonio for their amazing celebration of the Year of the Dragon with traditional Chinese activities in our Theater, part of today's stellar collection of featured programs. We were proud to join Intrepid Museum at the onset in supporting Flying Fish in the development Mission: Astronaut. Thank you to our team for their deep commitment to learning through play. You're all stars and you shine the brightest in the presence of our young learners. Bravo. Let's all keep DOing at The DoSeum!

The International School of San Antonio is honored to receive its official LabelFrancEducation seal from the Consulate General of France in Houston. Consul General, Valérie Baraban, awarded ISSA the accreditation, which is given to select schools offering enhanced instruction in the French language. Yesterday’s ceremony was made even more memorable by City of San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s attendance. He visited our Spanish, Chinese, and French classrooms, speaking with students and learning all about our ISSA community. A special visit from French basketball player and Spurs Sports & Entertainment star, Victor Wembanyama, brought great excitement and smiles to everyone here at ISSA. As our guest of honor, Wembanyama toured our school and met all of our language classes. Our French students were thrilled to meet him and even got to create an art project and read books with the star! Special thanks to all our guests and representatives of the French community for coming and supporting ISSA's contribution to French education in San Antonio!
