We are thrilled to introduce, for the very first time, the IACP Peer Support Specialist Awards! Peer Support Specialists provide invaluable support, understanding, and guidance to individuals on their recovery journey. To honor this group, IACP selected the very first group of Peer Support Specialist Awardees in 2024: Kiley Junge, Abbe Center for Community Mental Health – UPH; Faraji Hubbard, Abbe Center for Community Mental Health – UPH; Amanda Carstensen, Eyerly Ball – UPH; Lila Deutmeyer, Abbe Center for Community Mental Health – UPH; and Lisa Naslund, Plains Area Mental Health Center

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are one of the most critical aspects of Long-Term Services & Supports for more than 160,000 Iowans. DSPs are frontline staff who help people with intellectual / developmental disabilities live, learn and work in their community of choice. DSPs are the lifeblood of the community provider industry, and we are honored to display and commemorate their efforts. To recognize the essential role of DSPs, IACP developed the Direct Support Professional Award. The 2024 DSP of the Year Award recipients are: Marta Argueta, Mosaic in Central Iowa; Nicole Bell, Candeo; Bill Lightell, Candeo; Allison Bender, Exceptional Persons, Inc.; Becki Davis, B & D Services; and Darcy Murley, Opportunity Living.
