In April of 2023 I lost my father to Alzheimer's disease. Tomorrow I am hosting an all day virtual fundraiser for The Longest Day and the Alzheimer's Association during Brain Health Awareness month. I leaned on the information and advice this organization provided during my time in Sonoma County, CA and then in North Carolina. I've participated in fundraising for almost 10 years, but this event is the most meaningful. For more about the fundraiser and how to donate, please see the link below. I am thankful for my employer who encourages a day of service so that I can support the Alzheimer's Association. I am supported in this event by The Jane Club.

When I get asked why I started coaching people with their speaking, I’ve always had my pat answer: “I love helping people kick a** in a room”. But why else am I drawn to this work? I started my coaching business after years of sitting in agency new business pitches. These are large meetings where senior marketers/clients listen to the ad agency teams’ presentations and decide if they move forward. Often these were great experiences, but many times I watched people undo themselves in front of the clients. Why? Here are some of the reasons: 👉 Because they didn’t trust themselves to be in the room.  👉 Because they acted like they had something to prove.  👉 Because they focused on the wrong things.  👉 Because they didn’t know an answer.
